Sophie Hatton, Studio Owner, Pilates Works

Sophie, Studio Owner
Sophie went to London straight from her Business degree at Oxford Brookes University, where she worked in Marketing and Events for 10 years. She went to her first Pilates class in London in 2002, it was injury and pregnancy that led her to pilates initially and she was hooked from day one. Enjoying the movement, strengthening and mental focus that went with it. She was an avid Pilates enthusiast for the next 14 years.

In 2017, she completed her fully comprehensive training under second generation Pilates teacher, Kirk Smith, at the Classical Pilates Centre in Cheshire. Kirk’s training course is set up to teach teachers how to deliver Pilates the way it was developed by Joseph Pilates himself. The course, developed by Kirk involved 15 days training/100 guided hours, 600 apprenticeship hours and on-going apprenticeship hours. Sophie is dedicated to learning, training and sharing.

The next challenge after her time with Kirk was finding the right space for a Wall Tower studio. Once found, Sophie created the calm, sophisticated, contemporary space she’d envisioned. Pilates Works opened in February 2019 and quickly established itself as the first Classical Pilates studio in Sefton and Merseyside.

Jenny Dyas, Pilates Teacher
Jen turned to Pilates in 2009 when suffering with a severe back injury. The excruciating pain and sedentary position meant her body stiffened and her posture altered. It took a few months of commitment to the Pilates practice to recover. Once she noticed the health benefits both physically and mentally from stretching and strengthening the whole body, particularly the core, she became inspired to spread the word of the benefits by qualifying as a Pilates Instructor in 2016.

Jen went on to qualify as a Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates Instructor in 2019. Over the years she has been teaching a variety of classes including Pilates for injury rehabilitation something close to her heart, pregnancy and postnatal Pilates, Mum and baby classes, gentle Pilates classes for men and women, and all levels Pilates for more advanced practitioners.
